Class Assignments
Middle of 3rd quarter already? Sheesh! Time just flies when you're
having fun and learning new things!!
Preschool & Kindergarten have figured out how to use the mouse and are really
great when it comes to pointing and clicking! They're great artists and will soon be
printing out some class work to take home!

First grade has been learning about rhythm and music in the computer lab! We've
been playing with a BBC.uk website that introduces them to sounds in nature and
in music, and encourages them to look for beats and rhythms in everyday sounds.
They really love it!

Second grade is getting ready to learn some sign language! We've found some fun
videos online that will teach us how to talk with our fingers.

Third grade has started studying Geography. Each student was responsible for
learning about a state and studying the state quarter. Then each student drew
their own state quarter! Now we're going to learn about identifying states before we
study other countries of the world.

Fourth grade has also started studying the United States! Each student gets a state
to study, and then they'll learn about the different regions of the United States.
They're going to know all 50 of the states before the end of the year!

Fifth grade took a break from learning about Chicago to

Sixth grade learned briefly about promotions and marketing by using MS Publisher to
design logos for their first foray into the business world.

Seventh grade is taking a hands on approach to studying promotions by promoting
themselves! Each student was encouraged to be creative and come up with a
new store or product, and they're responsible for the promotions! They need to
create business cards, letterhead, envelopes, advertisements or fliers, and other
materials to turn in. The business concepts and designs are turning out splendidly!

Eighth grade took a short break from Excel to study MS Publisher. Each student got to
pick a celebration of The Olympics, summer or winter. They are creating brochures
about the games, including medals, logos, host cities and countries, and standout
athletes and events. Because each celebration of The Olympics is different, each
brochure will be different! And thanks to Mrs. Baran and our new printer, we'll be
able to duplex our brochures so they print on each side of the paper!
