Each year in the spring semester, Ms. Kelsey chooses a
Shakespeare play to perform with the students in 7th and
8th grade. Shakespeare is an event that all students look
forward to and has become a beloved spring tradition at
St. Gall School. Shakespearean plays that have been
performed at St. Gall include
Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado
About Nothing
, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Taming
of the Shrew
and The Comedy of Errors. Students learn to
read and understand Shakespeare as well as interpret the
meaning behind his words so the audience is entertained.
Participation in the plays is open to students in 7th and 8th
grade. Students must audition to receive a part in the play
and must attend all readings and practices for which they
are scheduled. Students who commit to Shakespeare must
also commit to attend all practices and dress rehearsals in
the weeks before the play 'goes up'.

Students in 7th and 8th grade are also welcomed to join the
"crew" and learn a little bit about what goes on behind the
scenes of a play.
