Social Networking with St. Gall
In order to keep up with our friends and
alumni, St. Gall School sees the benefit of
using the Internet and social networking
sites to reach out. Sites such as Facebook,
Twitter, and LinkedIn have kept us in close
contact with all our friends and alums.

LinkedIn is a social networking website for
business professionals. For our friends and
alums in the business world, this is a great way
to keep in touch with us online and follow all the
happenings at St. Gall School without logging in
to another account. The networking site for
business professionals is a great way for us to
make new contacts and keep St. Gall moving
forward!

Social networking
websites are fun, but they
are NOT appropriate for
children under the
age of 13. Websites must
be COPPA compliant by
including a disclaimer
asking that users "prove
their age" by checking a
small box. Because
websites cannot officially
verify the age of anyone
"over the age of 13" this
is not an appropriate way
to verify the age of any
user on any social
networking website.
Children under the age of
13 SHOULD NOT HAVE a
social networking page
on ANY website. If your
child does have a profile
on any website, St. Gall
School encourages
parents to actively
monitor their child's
actions online, including
access to passwords for
all sites.

COPPA, the Children's
Online Privacy Protection
Act, has dedicated itself
to the safety and
protection of minors
online for over 10 years.

COPPA,

St. Gall School advocates the safe
use of the Internet for all children.
St. Gall does NOT advocate
children using social networking
websites. Social networking was
designed for teenagers and
adults, not children. We encourage
parents to be responsible and
monitor the activity of their
children online and encourage
them to visit age-appropriate
websites instead.
