As of the new year, no cases of
H1N1/Influenza A/Swine Flu have
been reported at St. Gall School.
However, we are still encouraging
all students to cover their coughs,
wash their hands thoroughly, use
tissues, and to cough into their
elbows instead of their hands.
Students who are ill should be kept
at home until they are well enough
to return to school. Students should
also be taught preventative
measures at home as well as at
school.
If a child comes to school sick,
appropriate phone calls will be
made to send the child home
where s/he can recuperate. A child
who comes to school ill risks
infecting their classmates, friends,
teachers, and the office staff.
Please be mindful of the fact that
when our teachers and staff are
healthy, they are best able to serve
our children and families.
Students may bring small bottles of
hand sanitizer with them to school
for personal use. However, abuse of
this privilege will result in
confiscation of the sanitizer.
Students should also be wearing
hats, coats, gloves, and scarves to
and from school, especially those
who walk. Children of any age can
easily catch colds and other viruses
in this weather when combined
with poor personal hygiene.
Students cannot put on what they
do not bring with them. Please
remind them to dress warmly and
make sure they are leaving their
homes properly dressed for the
weather.
Your cooperation in this matter is
appreciated! When we work
together, we can keep our school
community healthy.
